The two most powerful words in the world: “thank you”

Want to change the world? Want an extremely easy yet extremely powerful way to do it? Just say “thank you”. These two words are so simple but so overlooked by most people.

Thank you can lose its meaning when there is no sincerity behind it. However when thank you is said with truth behind it, it can became two of the most powerful words in the world. Words that can change that world. People’s moods can instantly change because of these two words. When one person’s mood changes, it’ll create a chain reaction. That one person can eventually change the mood of hundreds if not thousands of others.

Here are a few ways to say “thank you” in which it will change lives and the world.

Say it when it’s unexpected

Make sure you thank someone when they do something for you. But if you want a thank you to have a bigger impact and leave a lasting impression on someone, say it out of the blue. Say it when it’ll shock them. Do it when that person has done nothing for you. Even interrupt them when they are talking and you’re listening. Stop them and say thank you.

Say it in a new way

Try saying thank you in a new way. Perhaps you can write it on card or create a banner. Or if you want to do something differently say thank you in a different language.

Say it for something simple

This is another way to make the words thank you 100 times more powerful. Tell someone thank you for something simple or even for something stupid. Say “thank you for being my friend”, “thank you for being you”, or any way that will get someone laughing or thinking.

You make your…

“You make your own dream. That’s the Beatles’ story, isn’t it? That’s Yoko’s story. That’s what I’m saying now. Produce your own dream. If you want to save Peru, go save Peru. It’s quite possible to do anything, but not to put it on the leaders and the parking meters. Don’t expect Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan or John Lennon or Yoko Ono or Bob Dylan or Jesus Christ to come and do it for you. You have to do it yourself. That’s what the great masters and mistresses have been saying ever since time began. They can point the way, leave signposts and little instructions in various books that are now called holy and worshiped for the cover of the book and not for what it says, but the instructions are all there for all to see, have always been and always will be. There’s nothing new under the sun. All the roads lead to Rome. And people cannot provide it for you. I can’t wake you up. You can wake you up. I can’t cure you. You can cure you.”

The victory of…

“The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your dreams.”

How to turn failure into success

“The great question is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with failure.”
-Chinese Proverb

Before you can succeed, you need to fail. You should expect it and accept it. Failure can breed new opportunities and new knowledge for you. So why wouldn’t you want to fail? You can either let failure prevent you from moving forward or you can utilize it to propel you to more success than you ever imagined. Which would you rather do? If you’re on this site, I would hope it’s the latter.

To help you turn failure into success, here are some things I’ve found that have worked.

Learn

Knowledge is the most valuable thing you can acquire from failure. What you learn cannot be taught in any school or by anyone. You must experience it yourself. Too many times, people shut out their failures when they should be examining them and keeping their failures in mind.

Here are some ways to maximize your learning potential:

~ Keep a timeline – Write down when you failed along with your successes.

~ Discover why you failed – Was your failure because of a lack of resources or because a lack of motivation?

~ What could you’ve done – Figure out what you could’ve done better or maybe didn’t need to do.

~ Get someone else’s opinion – Ask a friend or someone else, why they think you failed or what they saw wrong with your project and/or effort.

Get motivated

Failure is one of the greatest motivators. When you taste failure, you never want to taste it again. You also want to show yourself and others that you can succeed.

Here are a few ways to use failure to get motivated:

~ Think of even larger goals to achieve. Maybe your failed goals were too small and you failed for a reason.

~ Refresh your memory as to why you want to succeed. What do you desire and need to live the life you want?

~ Remember that other great achievers have failed as well. Failure was a key step to their success.

Adapt

After you have learned some priceless lessons from your failures it’s time to modify and adapt your plans and goals. Sometimes failures destroy your whole plans and require you to restart from scratch. Other times all you need to do is rethink your plans.

Here are some things you can do to adapt from failure:

~ Change time frames – Perhaps reaching your goals will take longer or less time than you first expected.

~ Move your plans around – You may want to move around items listed on your plans to tackle something first or later on.

~ Change approaches – Maybe you failed at an effort because your approach was wrong. Modify your approach and try again.

Spot opportunities

Failure can bring a whole new realm of opportunities to you. If you succeeded, you could have missed even bigger chances and opportunities.

Here are a few ways you can spot opportunities after failing:

~ If a business endeavor failed perhaps there wasn’t a demand for your product or service. Find out why people passed on your business and see what they really wanted. A whole new market could lie within those findings.

~ Capitalize on your failure by teaching others. Maybe you can help other people by preventing them from making the same mistakes you did. You can do so by writing a book, blogging, and maybe even by giving seminars.

~ Even in a failed endeavor, there’s a way you can make great contacts and friends. Use those contacts to move onto another project.

Those were just a few ways to turn failure into success. Never, ever, consider failing as the end, it’s only the beginning and a necessary step before you can reach the top. Once you’ve felt failure, you’ll appreciate success a 100 times more.

7 tips to help you escape a rut in your life

No matter who you are, this is something we all can relate to. We’ve all had a point in our lives where we just can’t seem to escape, we’re stuck. Whether you are stuck at a boring job, stuck in school, or stuck financially, there’s ways that you can begin your escape. Hope is plentiful, things will eventually change, even if you currently don’t see how. To speed up the process and to escape a rut, here are 7 tips.

1. Plan

To get unstuck you need to know where you want to head and what your first step in that direction needs to be. Write down, in a notebook, everything you view as being the point where you’ve finally escaped your rut. That may be when you’re owning your own business or when you have a million dollars. Then after that, write down what it will take for you to get there.

2. Take steps

Every single day, you MUST take a step to get out of this ditch. There’s no reason you can’t. Even a baby step that takes five minutes will help tremendously.

3. Partner with someone

Fitness experts recommend this to people who want to lose weight. Partner with a friend who also wants to achieve major goals and dreams. You’ll be able to keep each other motivated and even put a little bit of positive pressure on one another.

4. Keep track

With every little success and every little failure, keep note of them. Even create a time line so that you can look back. Each successful step will motivate you to the next. Even failures can motivate you to achieve greatness.

5. Mentally eliminate the rut

Perhaps you’re the one who created this rut. May be you aren’t stuck at all. Readjust your thinking and the hole you’re trapped in could disappear.

6. Change your routine

When you have the “same old” routine everyday, you’ll quickly feel like you’re stuck in a rut. Modify your routine, spice it up, switch things around, or add some new things to your routine.

7. Endure

If you have a lot of patience, then simply endure your time stuck in a rut. Things are never permanent and will eventually change. However, it’s better if you are in control.

Dealing with negativity: 8 ways to beat the naysayers

Naysayers come in all shapes and sizes. They can be young or old, more successful or less successful than you, and many times they are your close friends and relatives. Naysayers are always looking for the negative aspects of everything, whether it be because of fear or even jealously. Here are 8 ways to deal with their negativity, follow your dreams, and beat their naysaying.

1. Take their opinions into consideration

This is especially true for naysayers who are friends and family. If they love you, they’ll have you best interests in mind. Take what they have to say into consideration but don’t lose your dream. Perhaps your plan and approach is not right. You should always have a flexible plan that you can modify. Taking their opinions into consideration may not seem like beating them but as long as you don’t give up your dreams and goals, you’ll be winning.

2. Keep your goals private

If you don’t want to hear the negativity from the naysayers then don’t tell them about your dreams and goals. Wait until you achieve some success before you share with them. I’m sure they’ll still find something to be negativity about but you’ll be able to silence them somewhat.

3. Laugh it off

The best way to beat negativity is to be positive. So just laugh it off. Don’t worry about what the naysayers have to say and move on.

4. Use their negativity for motivation

Nothing gets me more motivated to chase my dreams than someone telling me it can’t be done. Use a naysayer’s negativity as fuel to achieve your desires and to prove them wrong.

5. Pinpoint where their negativity comes from

To make yourself feel better and to understand where the naysayers are coming from, pinpoint what it is that makes them so negative. Is it because they didn’t fulfill their own dreams or is it because of jealousy? It helps to find their insecurities but don’t confront them about it.

6. Get away

This is simple, but just get away from the naysayers and their negativity. Walk away until they can become more positive. You need to surround yourself with as many positive people and as much positive energy as possible.

7. Spark fire in the naysayers

Most likely naysayers need motivation to achieve what they really desire because they don’t believe they can. You can help them. You’re pursuing your dreams so show them the way.

8. Never give up on your dreams

Giving up on your dreams is exactly what the naysayers want you to do. Obviously you want to beat them, so giving up your dreams is not even an option. When the going gets tough, remember why you’re pursuing your dreams, the end result, the freedom and satisfaction.
