I will have to politely disagree that we should ‘not be concerned with what the future holds.’

I feel that it is our responsibility to consider what will help future generations.

Our actions should always consider the future/long term.

Your point is well taken that action now is needed to solve the current problem.

I’m not sure what can happen with overpopulation. Resources could become scarce, but I think we need to help those who need help now and not be concerned with what the future holds.

So true.

Unfortunately, my guess is that the following scenarios will become more common the future due to overpopulation:

1) a pandemic disease to bring down the global population

2) Earth resources consumed at too fast of a rate such as fresh water or food to reduce the population

3) Nature disasters will also have larger effects as population density increases

Adoption is a great solution, but it’s tough to tell people to stop reproducing.

I hope this does not come across as cynical, but perhaps these are two long term way to help reduce hunger.

1) adopt: so that current children may have a more stable environment

2) stop reproducing: the Earth has a infinite capacity
