Create a Motivational Environment

It is often said that you are a product of your environment so why not create an environment that produces success? Over the last few
months I have turned my bedroom into a motivational space. Everywhere I turn there is something that reminds me to keep my eye on the prize.
Here are a few things you can add and do to your room to make it a more positive and motivational space.
- Fake checks – This is something I recently stumbled upon while reading The Secret. You can print and fill out a fake check with the amount of money you hope to collect. The Secret‘s website has a nice print out available to anyone. Place the check next to pictures in your house so that you are constantly reminded.
- Vision boards – This I also read about in The Secret. You can take a large piece of card or poster board, print out images of what you desire in life and paste them on the board. You can add your favorite quotes alongside the images as well.
- Successories – The items produced by Successories help individuals succeed in both life and business. They have a large selection of items that you can place in your home or office. Check them out here.
- Place reminders everywhere - Place images and quotes that keep you motivated in spots that you might forget about, such as in the draws in your bedroom. Or if you want to help motivate someone else or they want to motivate you, hide these reminders around the house, in shoes, in the car, in the medicine cabinet, the refrigerator, and in other strange places that will surprise someone.
- Pictures - I’m sure everyone has pictures of their family but you can also include pictures of goals you want to reach. This can be an alternative to the vision board, take those images and frame them. You can also place pictures on the ceiling above your bed so that before you go to sleep and when you wake up you’re reminded of what you need to achieve.
- Plants – Plants can literally bring life to your house. You can watch them grow and flourish. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, there are plants that you can survive with your care, even a cactus can enlighten your room.
- Make it uncomfortable – This might sound strange but by making parts of your room or house uncomfortable it may motivate you to strive for something better. If you’re home is too small and cluttered this will motivate you to make more money so that you can afford a larger place. If your house is too comfortable you will simple settle for what you have.

What’s the world coming to?

The negativity of the media makes you ask this question everyday. News channels seem to report every single negative thing there is possible. Then for about 5 minutes in an hour show they’ll have a fun and positive story. The media says that these stories sell but are Americans really that negative? Or is it a vicious cycle that was started by the media? Where viewers started hearing negative news and felt that they needed to stay informed of every event possible. I know of many people who have stopped watching the news because it brings too much negativity into their lives. The media makes it seem that the world is only getting worse when in fact I think the world is only getting better. People are living longer, there are countless opportunities for people to succeed, and people are trying to get more involved in shaping the world. What’s the world coming to? Something great!

Reality can be beaten…
Today’s quote I have never heard before. It’s short and simple.
