Yeah, each and every one of us finds and creates happiness in different ways. It's great that you find happiness in living in the moment. That's a rare thing!

@Karl Staib and Andrew: I'm sure most people have their own little recipes for happiness. As for me, yes, living in the moment, totally grounded in it, enjoying it for the precious gift it is, that's what makes me happy these days. It's not always that this works, but I find it helps a lot. And when you live in the moment, I guess that happy buzz about you, that laughing and smiling all flows naturally from that centre. Because you're enjoying or have made up your mind to enjoy, that you start to feel happier..and presto! you're smiling and reaching out to make friends.

Hi David,

Thanks for the compliment!

That's very true about gratitude and appreciation. Really happy people are grateful and feel very fortunate.

Thanks for sharing!

A very good list. A slight overlap with my own book on the 7 habits of maximum happiness, but organized a bit differently. What is missing, which is what I really think is most important is active gratitude, active appreciation. For all the things we have, for all the friends we have, for all the skills we have, for all the experiences we have, they mean nothing is we don't appreciate them.

Glad you like this post. It's very true that we all want to be happy, some just don't want to admit it.
