Have you ever tried to summarize your life story onto one sheet of paper? If you were to try, do you think you’d be able to do it? Probably not. Now, how about summarizing your story in only six words. Many people are doing it for a project called Six-Word Memoirs.
From famous writers to first time story tellers, people are sharing their lives in six words. There’s even a book compiling almost 1,000 memoirs called, Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure.
It may seem difficult to do so, but it forces you to be creative and makes for some really interesting reads. I recommend you give it a try and submit your own six word memoir here: http://www.smithmag.net/sixwords/
Also please check out this cool video highlighting some of the memoirs.
Please keep your comments positive and respectful. All others will be deleted.
I thought this was a really cool idea. I thought for a while (who would think six little words would take a lot thought) and I submitted my six word memoir:
“Failed” and “failed,” but now succeeding.

If you submit your own, feel free to share it in the comments.

That’s an interesting idea. It makes you really focus on what the most important things are in your life when thinking about what you would want to share with others in that few words.
Yeah, I really recommend you check it out Kristi. give it a try, even if you don’t want to submit it.

I’m still wondering how I’ll matter.
