It’s already November 17 and 2009 is on its way; even though there’s still about a month and two weeks left of 2008.
So what goals have you accomplished in this past year? Is your to-do list shorter or now even longer? Please share in the comment section below if you would like.
If you didn’t accomplish much then now’s the time to get ready for 2009. Here’s a few quick tips on how to do it.
Don’t give up just yet. Just cross out “2008” and write in “2009.”
A lot of the times we write that we want to reach a goal in six months or by the end of the year; but we should consider decreasing the times. It creates a sense of urgency and puts a little positive pressure on you.
What have you been doing to try to accomplish your goals? Perhaps it’s not working. Remember: “If you want something you’ve never had before, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done before.” – Drina Reed
Just like the quote says, try things you’ve never done before.

Not every single goal I set for Lyved and for myself has been accomplished yet. Most I didn’t except to achieve for about 2 years anyway.
I think 2008 was more of a experimental stage where I was laying down a foundation to which to build upon in 2009.
One goal that I did accomplish I thought was going to take years. That is changing lives. I know I’ve changed more than a few lives of the readers of this site and I know I’ve changed my own life. I also think that when lives are changed or even one, the world is changed. So perhaps I’ve also changed the world just a little.
So here’s to 2009! Time for me to reevaluate my to-do list.
Please share what you have or haven’t accomplished yet. We can all encourage each other and give each other a little positive pressure.

Andrew, one thing I try to do is to set SMART goals – specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-tagged. Sometimes that helps. Other times goals need to be prioritized; some are no longer important with the passing of times.
Good luck.
Hey Glenda,
I love SMART goals! I think being specific is very crucial to accomplishing a goal.

I didn’t acomplish all, but a few. I divorced my husband after 19 years, took the kids all over Europe in the summer, went to one of my daughters ballet recitals finally! We bought a puppy for my son as a graduation present, got my son into a very good university to study medicine, and last but not least We moved from New York to Florida.
Wow! Don’t berate yourself. You and your family accomplished a lot!!!
